Safe Food Storage Made Easy

This digital fridge thermometer makes it simple to check whether your food is being stored at a safe temperature. It features a large, easy-to-read digital display, so you can quickly see the temperature whenever you open the fridge.

Not sure what temperature your fridge should be? If your fridge goes outside the recommended range of 0-5 °C, a food safety zone icon ❄ will appear to alert you.

The water-resistant casing protects the thermometer from spills, and with its long-lasting
5-year battery life, you’ll have years of hassle-free food safety.

What Temperature Should Your Fridge Be?

The recommended temperature for refrigerated foods is 0-5 °C. Temperatures over 8 °C can allow harmful bacteria to grow. Keeping your food within the correct range helps it stay fresher for longer. Dairy, raw or cooked meat, shellfish, and eggs are particularly important to keep at the right temperature to ensure they remain safe and fresh while helping to reduce food waste.

Where to Place a Fridge Thermometer

The bottom of the fridge tends to be the coldest, while the top is the warmest. The best place for your fridge thermometer is on the middle shelf. Avoid placing it too close to the front or back to get the most accurate reading.

What to Do If Your Fridge Temperature is Incorrect

If your fridge temperature is too high, adjust the dial to correct it. If the temperature is reading over 8 °C, use a food thermometer like the Thermapen to check the temperature of your food. Any food that has been stored above 8 °C for more than two hours should be discarded to reduce the risk of illness.
