Near instant readings that are accurate. Sure you may be able to find cheaper thermometers (in quality as well as price) but If you want the best then get a Thermapen! You will not be disappointed, they are worth every penny. Definitely tempted by the RFX for BBQ's this summer!
I love my new Thermapen. It's a brilliant new addition to my outdoor cooking setup. Reads the internal temperature of the meat in cooking, really quickly.

Quick, reliable and easy to use.
I upgraded a cheap thermometer with a Thermopen One because I wanted peace of mind that the measurements were accurate. I did the ice and boiling water tests when the Thermopen arrived and found the One to be extremely accurate - unlike my existing thermometer - which went to recycling. I also bought the magnetic silicone cover so now the Thermopen sits conveniently in reach, meaning I use it much more than my previous thermometer because it's "just there". It's so convenient, quick and simple to use, and I appreciate the rotating display being easy to read regardless of orientation. All in all, a worthwhile investment in what is proving to be a well constructed and well designed instrument.
