Battery Life Guidelines
With RFX, you can choose how often it sends temperature readings to your device — every 1.0°C/F, 1.5°C/F or 3.0°C/F change. The bigger the interval, the longer your battery lasts.
Here's what we recommend based on your cook time:
- Quick Cooks (Under 5 Hours) – 1.0 °C/F intervals
- Medium Cooks (5-15 Hours) – 1.5 °C/F intervals
- Long Cooks (15-65 Hours) – 3.0 °C/F intervals

Ambient Temperatures You Can Trust
Many wireless meat probes have an ambient temperature sensor built into the base. However, evaporative cooling from the meat lowers the surrounding temperature, and the meat itself absorbs heat, both of which skew the sensor's reading.
The RFX Billows Kit comes with a separate Pro Series Air Probe, ensuring precise placement and accurate temperature measurements of your oven or BBQ pit.
Billows Accessories
Billows is made to fit most fan openings on steel, ceramic and charcoal grills. If your vent hole is larger than 60 mm H x 50 mm W x 0.5 mm D, you'll need to add a Mounting Kit.
You can make micro-adjustments to your intake using the included Billows Damper. With 16 adjustment stops, fine-tuning Billows to reach your target temperature couldn't be easier.
How RFX Works
RFX MEAT to GATEWAY
RFX MEAT sends readings to your RFX GATEWAY using radio frequency waves, which maintain a strong connection through thick obstacles like ovens and BBQs. This means no interrupted readings during your cook.
GATEWAY to Your Device
Your RFX GATEWAY sends readings to your device using WiFi, which means you can monitor your cooks from anywhere with an internet connection. View the progress of your cook and get alerts through the ETI app.
Offline Mode
Don't have WiFi available? No problem. You can use a direct gateway-to-smartphone Bluetooth connection instead. This is perfect for cooking in remote locations like beaches or campsites.

Billows connects to your GATEWAY via a USB-C cable and attaches to your BBQ vent. Set your desired pit temperature in the ETI Cloud app, and Billows will bring your BBQ up to temperature and maintain it throughout the cook.

used my bellows for the 1st time over the weekend on a spit roasted pork joint, it s a great product made live so easy with the control of the air flow and maintains the the temperature in the egg

Amazing Connectivity

Used for the first time for an over night cook. Always struggled with connectivity with other set ups. Not with this. Not once did we lose connection through out a 16hr cook. All I can say is WOW.

Game changer!

Exceeded my expectations - only done two sessions with the Billows so far - beef short rib and a pork butt in the kamado - but this has not only upped my game, but made life so much easier. The billows made set up a breeze - the kamado quickly up to temperature and maintained spot on through the cook both times. I didn’t have to tend the kamado once during the cook - and by the second cook was confident enough to go out for a paddle on Loch Lomond for a few hours!
