Precision and Versatility
Probe Mode: Perfect for checking the internal temperature of meat, bread and sweet treats. It ensures your roast is succulent, your bread is perfectly baked, and your confectionery is spot-on.
Infrared Mode: Ideal for surface temperatures. Quickly check your BBQ or pan is hot enough for searing meat.
Switching between the Thermapen IR’s probe and infrared readings is easy.
Simply open the probe to begin measuring internal food temperatures. To use the infrared sensor, close the probe and press the scan button. Use the mode button to view max/min infrared readings.
The infrared thermometer has a target ratio of 5:1, so it should be positioned as close to the target as possible for accurate readings. The default emissivity is 0.95, but it can be adjusted between 0.1 and 1.0.

Designed and handmade in Britain by ETI, the Thermapen IR is built for high performance and durability.
The probe has a high accuracy of ±0.4 °C and reads temperatures in just three seconds. It also measures temperatures from -49.9 to 299.9 °C, perfect for confectionery and frying oil.
When the probe is open, the thermometer will automatically switch on/off when picked up or put down to maximise battery life. The screen rotates 360° for easy reading in either hand and from any angle.
Each Thermapen IR comes with a free calibration certificate for guaranteed accuracy and a two-year guarantee for free repair or replacement if needed.

Purchased a flat grill for BBQ and needed a way to measure surface temperature and food temperature so the IR pen seems like the ideal combination. It’s works really well and can change between food temperature with the probe and surface temp with the IR function in one device. Easy to read as the display flips to whichever orientation you need. Really pleased with my purchase.

Instant reliable temperatures

All excellent so far. Instant temps, no waiting for the probe to have a think. The IR is good, still getting used to that but mostly used the probe so far. I think this is going to be one of my most important gadgets at the BBQ
